What does it take to be a filmmaker? This is a question that runs through the head of anyone who love going to the movie theater. Kevin Smith tries to answer that question. He alway dreamed of being a writer for his hometown news paper. Becoming a filmmaker wasn't even a thought in his mind. At times it seems, indie filmmakers, in a rush to buy the latest and greatest camera, overlook the category of production sound entirely. I'm not sure why... So I'll do a little post on this topic and give a thumbs up to an excellent audio recorder.

With the release of Canon EOS 7D, a new era of filmmaking is upon. On average motion picture cameras cost $100,000 and up. The Canon 7D shatters that cost structure, coming in at $1,699. Frankly, I don't understand why anyone would opt for filming on a $100,000 camera system when there are tons of affordable options, capable of shooting HD or beyond.
